Football: Top Games & Full Week 6 Schedule

After getting off to a rough start, Alter has bounced back. The Knights have won three straight including a 28-7 win over a very talented McNicholas team last week. Alter has the top run offense in the GCL Co-Ed. They will need to rely on running back Branden McDonald for another strong performance if they going to knock off a talented C.J. team.

The Eagles are coming off of a win against Fenwick which ended their four game losing skid. Luke Chandler has established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the GCL Co-Ed and not turning the ball over will be the key if the Eagles want to beat a hot Alter squad.

A lot of controversy will be surrounding this game. Dunbar would’ve locked up a City League title after tonight, but after allegations surfaced of both Dunbar and Thurgood playing with ineligible players, it looks like the Wolverines won’t get a chance at the conference title. Dunbar senior quarterback Gregory Packnett has played flawless football this season and it would be a real shame if he wasn’t able to secure a league title after the performances he’s turned in the last two weekends.

Northmont will try and complete their perfect season. The Thunderbolts escaped in overtime last week as Miamisburg gave them everything they had. Cade Rice, Markus Allen, and Rod Moore will look to pullout one more win in the regular season as they will host Wayne.

The Warriors haven’t loss since their week one game against Springfield. They also narrowly escaped Fairmont last week. Cam Fancher and Wayne will hope to pull off the victory to boost the Warriors morale the week before the playoffs begin.

After having a down year last year, the Rams have rebounded back beautifully. Greeneview will look to secure another OHC title behind running back Dakota Mangan who has dominated opponents this season. They will have to take down a tough Greenon team in a game that will reignite this OHC rivalry.

Meanwhile, Greenon will look to repeat as conference champions. The transition at quarterback from Cade Rice to Evan Davis has been very smooth. Davis has only thrown one interception this entire season. Behind one of the top defenses in the OHC, the Knights will hope to have one more big game in them before the playoffs.

After winning a state championship last year, Trotwood hasn’t taken their foot off the pedal this year. The Rams return quarterback Cooper Stewart and a loaded offense that has moved them to 2-0 behind big wins over Thurgood Marshall and Ponitz.

The Rams will close out their regular season against one of the top DPS teams in Belmont. The Bisons led by Tavon Hardwick, will look to take down a powerhouse in Trotwood-Madison. This will not be an easy task as their run heavy offense will be met by Akron commit Daylen Morgan and the stacked Trotwood defense.

The CCC conference title game will be played Friday night between Tri-Village and Fort Loramie. Tri-Village doesn’t have a traditionally great football team but this year is different. Led by junior Layne Sarver, the Patriots quarterback has over 1,700+ total offense yards this season while scoring 22 total touchdowns and having 5 total defensive interceptions.

Fort Loramie has built a tradition of excellence the past couple of seasons. With back to back double digit win seasons, the Redskins look to hopefully haul in another conference title. Behind star senior quarterback Collin Moore, this offense has been unstoppable this season. They have outscored their opponents this season 255-14. They look to get one more big win in before the division seven playoffs begin and the real battle starts.

Stebbins and Troy will close out their respective regular seasons against each other. Troy lost to Tippecanoe two weeks ago which was the first time that’s happened in 81 years. The Trojans rebounded with a good win last week against Greenville and will look to end their regular season on a high note with a big win over Stebbins.

The Stebbins Indians got one of their biggest wins of the season last week, as they knocked off Fairborn. Star quarterback Nate Keller has been the leader of this team and will look to pullout one more big win before playoff time. Stebbins is a team that no one is going to want to play in the playoffs. The Indians are projected to get a decently high seed in the division two region eight bracket.
